SWEET BABY RAYS CROCKPOT CHICKEN RECIPE

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • - 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • - 1½ cups Sweet Baby Ray's Original barbecue sauce divided
  • - 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • - ¼ cup light brown sugar packed
  • - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - Salt and black pepper to taste
  • - Onion powder to taste
  • - Finely chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Cooking Instructions:
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste.
  • In a bowl, combine 1 cup of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Mix until well combined.
  • Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the crockpot and pour the BBQ sauce mixture over them, ensuring the chicken is well coated.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  • Once cooked, shred the chicken using two forks and return it to the crockpot, mixing it with the sauce.
  • For added flavor, remove the lid and spread the remaining ½ cup of BBQ sauce over the chicken. Cook on high, uncovered, for an additional 30-45 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  • Garnish with finely chopped parsley before serving and offer the remaining sauce for dipping.
  • Extra Tips:
  • For an even richer flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the BBQ sauce mixture overnight before cooking. Additionally, you can customize the spice level by adding a dash of cayenne pepper or your favorite hot sauce to the mixture. This dish also freezes well, so you can make a double batch and store leftovers for a quick meal later on!
