  • - 2-4 ripe bananas mashed to 1 2/3 to 2 cups
  • - ½ cup sugar
  • - ½ cup melted butter or oil
  • - 2 eggs
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - 1½ cups flour
  • - 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • - ½ teaspoon salt
  • - ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • - Optional: walnuts or chocolate chips

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, sugar, melted butter or oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring just until combined. Be careful not to over-mix.
  • If desired, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • When cooking banana bread, remember to use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and moisture. You can also enhance the texture by using a combination of butter and oil, or adding Greek yogurt or sour cream for added moisture.
