Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lightly greasing it with cooking spray, if desired.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. For smaller bites, you can cut each triangle into smaller pieces.
Take a cocktail-sized sausage and place it at the thicker end of a dough triangle. Roll the sausage up in the dough, starting from the thicker end and rolling towards the point.
Place the rolled sausages on the prepared baking sheet, making sure to leave space between each one for even baking.
In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the wrapped sausages for a golden finish. If using, sprinkle your desired seasoning on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown. For even cooking, rotate the baking sheet halfway through the baking time.
Once baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
For the best results, serve your pigs in a blanket warm and fresh out of the oven. They're best enjoyed immediately but can be kept warm in a low-temperature oven if you're preparing a large batch.
Feel free to experiment with different types of sausages or dough alternatives to find your perfect combination. Enjoy with a variety of dipping sauces to cater to everyone's taste preferences!
