Magical Desserts

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • - 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • - 2 cups milk lukewarm
  • - 1 and 1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • - 4 eggs separated
  • - 1 cup flour
  • - Optional: vanilla extract powdered sugar for dusting, berries for topping

Instructions

  • Cooking Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, lukewarm milk, and powdered sugar. Whisk together until well blended.
  • Add the egg yolks to the mixture and stir until incorporated. Sift in the flour and mix until smooth. If using, add a splash of vanilla extract for flavor.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter, being careful not to deflate them.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-60 minutes, or until the cake is barely jiggly in the center.
  • Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar and, if desired, top with fresh berries before serving.
  • Extra Tips:
  • To achieve the best results, it's essential to handle the egg whites with care when folding them into the batter; this preserves the airiness of the mixture.
  • Keep an eye on the baking time, as ovens can vary. If you notice the top browning too fast, cover it loosely with aluminum foil.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar to avoid it melting into the cake. Enjoy your magical creation!
