Cooking Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 425°F or your grill to 400°F. If you're using the oven, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, which will help achieve a better crust. Season both sides of the salmon with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, low-sodium soy sauce, minced garlic or garlic powder, fresh lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using) to create the sauce.
If baking, place the seasoned salmon on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. If grilling, wrap the salmon in foil packets and place them on the grill, cooking until done.
During the last few minutes of cooking, pour the honey sauce over the salmon to glaze it. Allow it to caramelize slightly for added flavor before removing from heat.
Serve the honey salmon with fluffy rice and steamed vegetables, garnished with lemon slices and cilantro for a fresh finish.
