HEALTHY APPLE CAKE RECIPES

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This guarantees that the cake bakes evenly and achieves a nice golden color.
  • Combine Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, your chosen sweetener, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. This step helps distribute the baking powder and spices evenly throughout the cake.
  • Add Apples and Nuts: Core and chop the apples coarsely. Gently fold the chopped apples and nuts (if using) into the wet mixture, then gradually add the dry mixture until just combined.
  • Prepare the Pan: Grease a springform pan with baking spray and line the bottom with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Prepare the Topping: While the cake is baking, heat milk, butter, and sugar in a pot until melted and combined.
  • Poke Holes: Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and use a skewer or chopstick to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
  • Absorb Liquid: Pour the warm milk and butter mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in for a few minutes.
