Cooking Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground cloves, and salt until evenly mixed.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Carefully stir in the hot water, mixing until the batter is smooth and well combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove the gingerbread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
