BEEF AND NOODLES

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • - 1 pound beef chuck roast or sirloin, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • - 1 medium onion chopped
  • - 3 cloves garlic minced
  • - 4 cups beef broth
  • - 2 cups egg noodles
  • - 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • - 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • - Salt and pepper to taste
  • - Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cooking Instructions:
  • In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef pieces and sear them until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the beef from the pot and set it aside.
  • In the same pot, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Return the browned beef to the pot and pour in the beef broth. Add the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 45 minutes or until the beef is tender.
  • After the beef has simmered, add the egg noodles to the pot. Cook according to the package instructions, usually about 6-8 minutes, until the noodles are tender.
  • Once the noodles are cooked, taste the broth and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve the beef and noodles hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
  • For best results, be certain to choose a cut of beef that has some marbling, as this will contribute to the overall flavor and tenderness of the dish. You can also add vegetables such as carrots or peas for added nutrition and flavor.
  • If you have leftovers, they can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, but the noodles may absorb some of the broth, so you might want to add a little water or broth when reheating. Enjoy your homemade beef and noodles!
